# How to Add New User

Here's a step-by-step guide for adding new user to a specific wholesaler in the Link Admin.

To help make sense of the steps below it should be understood that there are two levels of "login", ie. the first is authentication (is this email valid), and secondly authorisation (what am I allowed to do)

Adding a user therefore requires two steps, 1. add the email to provide authorisation, and 2. add the email to our identity provider (Auth0)

  • To add new user, begin by navigating to the Home tab.

  • In the UB GROUPS tab, locate the wholesaler where the new user should be added and double-click on it. Image

  • Subsequently, navigate to the AGENTS tab within the selected wholesaler account and hit the "ADD DEALER" button. Image

  • Following that, the AGENT tab will then appear, prompting the input of all necessary details for the new user.

In the Roles section, please select the appropriate role of the user you are adding. Image

  • After providing the required information, ensure to click on the SAVE CHANGES button. (this completes the Authorisation details) Image

  • The newly added user will be displayed in the AGENTS list.

Note: Remember to refresh the site to accurately reflect these changes. Image

  • To verify the user's email, double-click on the newly created user's account and proceed by clicking on the "CHECK LOGIN" button. This checks with the external authentication provider (Auth0)

  • Followed by "CREATE LOGIN" button to set up the user's login credentials with the external provider;

  • Finally, click the "RESET PASSWORD" button. This initiates the sending of email to the user, enabling them to create their own password.

When the password is set, the user can now login to the Link V2 application.

# Domain Defaults

When a server is provisioned, it is a very good idea to maintain consistency across all the customer PBX accounts. To this end, the default starting numbers for all Account Types (Auto Attendants, Extensions, Park Orbits, etc.) need to be set.

So, when adding accounts to a server the customer (or agent) will not be required to enter an account number, just the name. The account number will be provided automatically based on these default values. Image

# Current PBX

The current PBX screen lists all the servers that are available to provision customer accounts too. These are the PBX’s associated with the chosen wholesaler. Image

# Open for Provisioning

Only one server is allowed to be open for provisioning at one time – this server is the one that all new customer domains will be created against.

To change the server, click the checkbox of the server you want to use for all new domains, and hit save.

To add a new server, click the Add button in the top right, and fill out the fields. Image

  • PBX Number: for reference only – it should for clarity match the IP address of the server. Eg. If the server ip is 175.158.106.10 then the PBX Number would be 10.
  • Domain: enter the FQDN of the server here (e.g., 148.voiceconnect.net.au) – once you have entered the name hit tab on your keyboard and the PBX Server field will be populated with the resolved IP address.
  • PBX Server: Read only field – required and filled by name resolution of the Domain.
  • Open For provisioning: Typically, this should be left as is – as only one server can be active at a time.

# Domain Templates

Domain templates assist in the provisioning of a new domain – it is recommended to create a various templates that fit a large percentage of existing customer base.

Image

For instance, during the provisioning of a new domain, users are prompted to select a template. Subsequently, this template is utilized akin to a macro to generate a domain consisting of predefined account types. E.g., Choose a template names “Direct To Extension” Image When provisioning, the number of seats/extensions is set to 5. Subsequently, applying this template will result in the provisioned domain containing: 5 Extensions, 1 Service Flag, and 3 Park Orbits.

To create a new template, simply click the "CREATE" button. Following that, enter the base information. Image

Then click "Add Account" to configure the details of the accounts you want to become a new template.

The account type is chosen from a drop down, the quantity is how many will be created, and the Account Name is the prefix for the Account used in the name. For example, Ring Group will become RingGroup-1

# Rate Plans

The rate plans presented here need to match the link plans that are already created in Utilibill.

There needs to be at least one plan for each of the mandatory types – these types are did, extension, and softphone. Image

When creating the entry, ensure that the Plan No field precisely matches the rate plan number from utilibill. The description can be customized as desired.

# Location

During server provisioning, it's common practice to localise the server for both incoming and outgoing calls, the area code, handling phone numbers without an area code, and setting the time zone of the call.

Instead of configuring timezone and dial plans separately, this page facilitates the creation of location groups. For example, the Qld location is defined with the "QLD CLI Pass" dial plan and the "AUS4" timezone. Image

# Rules

By default, all permissions are granted, i.e. so, if no permission rules exist the user will have access to all parts of the UI.

If you want to restrict a particular part of the UI then it is possible to create a rule here to either: disable, or completely hide a part of the UI. Image
